The Thrive Afterschool Program supports nearly 500 East Hartford Public School students in pre-kindergarten through grade 5. Providing programming at 10 school sites four days a week, students receive individualized academic support and engage in enrichment opportunities in a safe and welcoming environment.

2023-2024 School Year Program:


Enrollment for the Thrive Afterschool Program for the 2023-2024 school year opened in May 2023, and enrolls students on a first come, first served basis. To add your student to our waitlist, please login to PowerSchool  Click on “Forms” –> Complete “Thrive Registration Form” for each of your students. Form completion does not mean your student is enrolled. You will receive a confirmation email beginning May 19 and rolling thereafter regarding your student's enrollment status.

The program will continue to charge $20/ month for the first student; $15/ month for sibling: no charge for additional siblings.

Summer 2024:


The Thrive Afterschool Program will host our annual 5-week Summer Program at two locations. The Silver ln Prek Thrive Summer Program is for students who currently attend Hockanum School in pre-k 3 or pre-k 4, and the O'Connell K-5 Thrive Summer Program is for students enrolled in kindergarten through grade 5. These programs are open to all students currently enrolled in East Hartford Public Schools. Students will enroll for the grade-level they attended in the 2023-2024 school year..
